From whispers in the attic to cultural permanence, Stonewax is the creative world of Australian producer, engineer, and artist Steve Summers. Behind the console and inside the music, he brings an instinct for groove, texture, and character to every record he touches. His work moves freely through hip hop, jazz, psychedelia, soul, and whatever happens when you stop worrying about where it belongs.

Working independently throughout Australia and beyond, Steve has built his practice around close collaboration and a deep respect for the craft. His credits include Julien Barbagallo (Tame Impala), Ziggy Alberts, Matt Smith (Thirsty Merc), Chucho Bruno, Judah Kelly, Karise Eden, Chris Ah Gee, and Glycol, among many more. As a producer and engineer with an artist’s imagination, he hears beyond a clean recording: the crooked groove, the unexpected texture, the performance with something to say. That’s where Stonewax hits different—drawing out the character that makes a record unmistakably its own.
