about
GLYCOL
Emerging from the concrete depths of Brisbane, Queensland, Glycol is a band that thrives on angst and musical disparity. This trio, driven by fire-fueled grunge power and sweet disorder, has carved out a unique niche in the music scene. Glycol is composed of three distinct talents: Evan, a jazz-trained drummer whose rhythmic prowess lays the foundation; Luca, the head-banging groover whose bass lines are the heartbeat of their sound; and Carlton, the sweet and sour diehard who leads with his raw vocals and gritty guitar riffs.
Glycol’s music is a convergence of grunge, metal, and hard-hitting punk, reflecting the varied influences and backgrounds of its members. Their sound is a rebellion against the polished and the predictable, a middle finger to conventionality that they reinforce by hosting pop-up shows in the most unconventional of venues. From abandoned warehouses and city car parks to drain-ways and beneath the ICB bridge, Glycol’s performances are as raw and unrestrained as their music.
Their debut album, featuring 10 punch-heavy tracks, is a testament to their dedication to the grunge ethos. Produced and engineered by Steve Summers, also known as STØNEWÅX, this album is an offering that promises to make Kurt Cobain rock in his grungy grave. It's a bold declaration of their arrival on the music scene. Glycol is not just a band; it's a movement of raw energy and defiant spirit, bringing a new edge to Brisbane's underground music culture.
